Is study gap acceptable in UK?

Gap do affect you candidature but it can be backed by the strong profile and personal statement/Statement of Purpose. You need to explain the reason for your gap like if you have been studying or engaged in any other activity. If you had any medical issues you can provide medical certificate along with other documents.

Generally in UK, gap of 2 years for undergraduate and  5 years in postgraduate is acceptable. We have seen many profiles more than years of gap being accepted in UK.

Colleges or Immigration may challenge your study gap if you seek for fresh study permits in the UK. A lengthy study time may make it difficult for the college to admit you. 

For undergraduate and diploma students, the study gap of up to 2 years is allowed and for postgraduate candidates, the study gap up to 5 years is permitted. There is an 8-year study gap available in various institutions and universities. 

There would be no difficulty in getting a study visa after 8 years gap if you were excellent in your studies and had a solid record before the gap. As soon as you can present your case properly and explain the reasons for a study gap, you should not find it difficult to obtain UK visa approval.

Your study gap might be legitimate for a number of reasons, and you need an honest explanation and documentation from your immigration officer. You can present it to the University and the Immigration if you have some job experience as evidence of your study gap.
