Dr Manmohan Singh Scholarship:
The Dr. Manmohan Singh Scholarship is awarded for doctoral studies at St. John's College, University of Cambridge. It is an international award, administered by the St. John’s College, to Honour Dr. Manmohan Singh, the Prime Minister of India. This Scholarship is offered to those students who wish to pursue a doctorate degree from the St John’s College, University of Cambridge. This scholarship was started in 2007 to enable academically outstanding Indian students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to come and study at St. John’s College, University of Cambridge.

This Scholarship is particularly offered to those students who wish to pursue a doctorate degree (PhD) from St John’s College, University of Cambridge.
Eligibility:
The applicant for Dr Manmohan Singh Scholarships must hold a Master’s (postgraduate) degree from a reputed/recognized India university/institution with a First Class award (UG and PG) in the relevant subject/field and must be applying for a PhD degree from St John’s college is any of the following subjects –

There is no specific amount which will be offered to the candidates who will qualify for Dr Manmohan Singh Scholarships for Doctoral Studies but the amount would be enough to cover the following costs.
How to apply:
Selection:
Only those applicants who get an offer of admission at St John’s College will be eligible for the award of the Scholarship. The candidates should not approach St. John's College directly at this stage.
Selection is based on short listing and personal interviews. British Council will short list the candidates from the applications received and they are called for personal interview, which will be held in New Delhi. Applicants are requested not to contact the British Council office directly.
Subsequent to the interviews, the selection committee will identify the required number of candidates for the awards. Candidates will be expected to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements for attending the interview. The decision of the selection committee will be final and the results will be communicated within a month following the interview.
Pre-departure briefings, UK Visa and travel arrangements for the selected candidates will be co-ordinated by the St. John's College.
