How does a University assess a student's application form. What are the stages in assessment.

What are the documents which the University require to assess my application. What happens if I do not submit some or all of the documents? Can you explain the importance of each document asked by the University? Is the University required to verify certain documentation due to some guidelines of the Government? Is my data safe with the University?

A personal statement is required when applying to UK universities. In it, students are tasked with writing about what they hope to do on the course, what they hope to do after the course and why they are applying.

Reference Letters
References are usually written by someone who knows you academically or professionally. Most references will talk about you from a teacher's or supervisor's perspective: the way in which you interact with other students and your performance in classes and seminars.

Please note that it better to submit your following document with your application:

1) Scan copy of all orignal academic documents (provisional certificate is not acceptable) :  it's help the University to take decision, whether you are meeting the minimum entry requirement and pre-requisite subject requirement or not. on the basis of your academic documents the University can advise you alternate degree aim if you are not meeting the pre-requisite subject requirement 

Translations. If any document is not in English, the original must be accompanied by a full translation. The translation must contain:

  • Validation from the translator that it is an exact translation of the original document
  • Translation company's contact details
  • The date of the translation

If you are currently a student : You will have been asked to upload an interim transcript from your latest exams.

2) Personal statement : Successful applicants are those who have researched carefully what subjects and grades they need to do their chosen course at their chosen universities, and have also clearly articulated in their personal statement why they want to study what they’ve applied for.

3) Study gap documents (if you have more 6 month study gap from the last completed acadmic study): for undergraduate and diploma students, the study gap of up to 2 years is allowed and for postgraduate candidates, the study gap up to 5 years is permitted. There is an 8-year study gap available in various institutions and universities.There would be no difficulty in getting a study visa after 8 years gap, if you were excellent in your studies and had a solid record before the gap. As soon as you can present your case properly and explain the reasons for a study gap, you should not find it difficult to obtain the UK visa approval

4) Passport copy (vaild for minimum 3 months from the course start date): A valid passport required for overseas traveling and reduce the Visa rejection changes. 

5) English test certificate (IELTS, PTE etc) if you have taken with in 2 years.:  University ask for proof of your knowledge of the English language. Universities can choose how they assess a student's knowledge of English. Your CAS will confirm how your English language ability has been assessed by the university. If it has been assessed by you providing a certificate or qualification, then this will be listed in your CAS and you must provide the certificate listed. If no English language qualifications are listed in your CAS, then you will not need to provide any with your application.

If you do not submit the above documents with your initial applicaiton, then the University will issue you a conditional offer and you will waste your time to complete offer conditions.

  • Your full name must appear on all documents.
  • Ensure that all information on the document is readable.
  • If a document is in a language other than English, a certified English translation must also be included.
  • Scan your document in black and white.
  • Ensure that the scanned document orientation matches the original. For example, transcripts that are printed vertically (portrait) should be scanned so that they appear in portrait format. Transcripts printed horizontally (landscape) should appear in landscape format.
  • all your supporting documents as one file. Create one PDF for each type of document you are required to upload.
  • Multipage documents should be saved as a single PDF document. Please ensure that all pages of the document are in the correct order.
